In recent years, pursuing a college education has become a dreadfully complex, confusing and expensive process. To navigate the websites, the mountains of paperwork and forms, to find and grasp the countless deadlines, rules and regulations that schools, various branches of federal and state governments, lenders and scholarship granting authorities, it is definitely not an “easy” chore. And that doesn’t even address the task of picking the right school for a student.
The goal of College Funding Professionals is to help parents educate all their children in as comfortable a manner as possible, without sacrificing their retirement or to be faced with a huge debt for them or their student(s) at the end of a college career. We assist parents in developing a plan so that they have certainty as to how they will fund college costs, without sabotaging any other financial goals. They seek to help families prevent costly errors along the way. Who wants to make a six-figure mistake?
Shelly & Bob Gaudry are dedicated to help families with most aspects of the college admissions process and financial aid planning. Their interest in college funding began with thoughts of their son’s own college education. Their interest led them to find this little known niche. They developed their passion for helping others into a business benefiting those seeking help at all stages of college planning.
They are members of the College Planning Network www.collegeplanningnet.com (the premier national service center for college funding advisors and a member of the Better Business Bureau) and the National Association of College Funding Advisors www.mynacfa.com (of which they are Certified Mastery members). They both have undergone extensive training and participate in ongoing continuing education, including three or more national training conferences each year.

- Navigate a family through the extremely complex and time consuming college admissions and financial aid processes.

- Help student(s) pick the school that's the right "fit" for them; addressing not only types of degrees, but the overall college environment and the impact to the parents’ pocket book!
- Help student(s) make sound college selection choices and put them on a clear path toward prosperous and rewarding careers and lives, post-college.
- Make sure financial aid paperwork is completed accurately and deadlines are met.
- Give students the most innovative Student Positioning tools that are available today, such as: private interviewing, talent and career assessments, school application review, admissions tips, essay writing strategies, scholarship availability reports, College Board exam review materials...
- Review up to 3 award letters to see if they are fair. If not, they will assist families through the appeals process and deliver strategies on how to potentially improve aid offers.
- Provide a family with professional, friendly treatment from our local staff and our highly qualified CPN Service Center team, convenient web based, 24/7 access to keep abreast of progress in the process…along with much, much more!
Shelly and Bob have been serving the community at the Rockford Public Library in recent months. Their free workshop “How Will We Pay for College?” has been featured as part of the RPL’s Event Series. It offers a 10,000 foot view of the process. For part 2 of the free workshop, Bob and Shelly utilize the office/conference rooms at Perryville Business Centers. Here, they privately meet with people to learn the particulars of their unique situation, often after hours and on weekends. They also use the telephone and mailbox services. During business hours, calls are answered by VOS professionals at the center and are directed as requested. The Gaudrys meet with families on an appointment only basis. As their business continues to grow, they are looking for more ways to utilize the wide range of services offered at A Perryville Place, so as to free up more time to spend working with existing clients and developing new ones.
